Description of This Book

Half brother is about a boy named Ben Tomlin who just moved from Toronto to Victoria, British Columbia. The next day, which was his birthday, his mom comes home with a chimpanzee which they decide to name Zan later on. Ben’s dad comes up with an idea of starting a project about teaching monkeys sign language. The project is doing very well and they are making good progress. A few months pass and they have to use this chair called the “learning chair”, it doesn't help Zan learn at all. Later on they have to give up zan to a mysterious man because the project is becoming failure. Zan does not like it there so they take him to a place in New York, and that's where the story ends.
